Our children's classes - Daisy First Aid South Leicester
Did you know - around 90% of accidents happen in the home? What if you are home with the children and there is not another grown up there...would your child know what to do in an emergency? For a child to witness a major first aid incident this could be traumatic, however if they understand what is happening and have a chance to help this could make all the difference!
We work with schools, community groups and home education groups.
Empower
Children are capable of a lot - they just need to know what to do. In our classes they will learn how and when to get help and basic first aid.
Build confidence
Should the worst happen and your child is the only one there who can help, this can be very traumatic.
Giving children the confidence to react in an emergency could be the difference.
Not scary
We aim to educate not scare children about first aid, the earlier they learn and it becomes part of normal life...the less scary it is and the more likely they will be able to help!
Age appropriate
Our classes start from just 3...yes that's right! Children as young as 3 can call for help, recognise the number 9, ask for an ambulance, give their address and put an adult in the recovery position.
As the children grow, they can learn, retain and do more.
They just need to be taught how.
And to practice - if they only learn it once they could forget, so we ensure that adults know how to support their understanding at home.

Community involvement
We love getting out into the community and training more people. Recently we have been working with squirrels, beavers, cubs and scouts (part of the scouting organisation).
Maybe your company is looking for sponsorship opportunities in the local area. There are 100's of organisations, schools and groups in the area that would love to help children get trained in basic first aid
NB Books
At NB Books we are passionate about empowering children through stories. We have a range of stories for young children giving real advice and guidance around first aid - what to do if their grown up at home needs help.
In the pipeline we have a series of books geared towards older primary aged children (Key stage 2).
We will also be creating books around mental health first aid for children, how to help themselves, their friends and their grown ups.
