Terms and Conditions For Delegates

Provider: NB First Aid ("we", "us", "our")
Applies to: All customers booking onto any Mental Health First Aid course delivered by NB First Aid (online or in-person).

By booking onto a course with NB First Aid, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Booking, refunds and transfers
1. Booking and Payment
1.1. A booking is confirmed once a completed booking form is received and full payment has been made.
1.2. All course fees must be paid in full prior to the course start date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.3. NB First Aid reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking at its discretion.
1.4. Failure to make payment by the due date may result in cancellation of your place.
2. Cancellations and Refunds (Customer)
2.1. All bookings are non-refundable.
2.2. If you are unable to attend, you may request a transfer to an alternative date subject to availability.
2.3. Transfer requests must be made in writing at least 14 days prior to the course start date.
2.4. Transfers requested less than 14 days before the course start date may not be accommodated and the booking will be forfeited.
2.5. Only one transfer per booking is permitted unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.6. Non-attendance without prior notice will result in loss of the full course fee.
3. Substitutions
3.1. A substitute participant may attend in place of the original booking at no additional cost.
3.2. Substitutions must be confirmed in writing prior to the course start date.
3.3. The substitute must meet any course eligibility requirements.
4. Cancellations and Changes (NB First Aid)
4.1. NB First Aid reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course due to insufficient numbers, instructor illness, technical issues, venue issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
4.2. Where a course is cancelled by NB First Aid, customers will be offered either:
- Transfer to an alternative course date; or
- A full refund. 4.3. NB First Aid shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred including travel, accommodation, or loss of earnings.

5. Online Course Requirements
5.1. For online courses, participants must have access to:
- A stable internet connection
- A device with camera and microphone
- A quiet environment suitable for participation
5.2. Participants must join on time and remain present for the full duration.
5.3. Failure to meet the online participation requirements may result in certification not being issued.
6. In-Person Course Requirements
6.1. Participants must arrive on time and attend the full course.
6.2. Late arrivals or early departures may result in certification not being issued.
6.3. Participants are responsible for their own travel, parking, and accommodation arrangements.
7. Attendance and Conduct
7.1. Participants must attend all sessions in full to receive certification (where applicable).
7.2. NB First Aid reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate.
7.3. No refund or transfer will be provided where a participant is removed for misconduct.
8. Participant Responsibilities
8.1. Participants are responsible for ensuring they are fit and able to attend a mental health training course.
8.2. Participants should inform NB First Aid in advance of any learning needs, accessibility requirements, or reasonable adjustments required.
8.3. Participants must treat all discussions with respect and maintain confidentiality.
9. Confidentiality
9.1. Mental Health First Aid courses may involve group discussions and sharing of personal experiences.
9.2. Participants agree to maintain confidentiality regarding any personal information shared during the course.
9.3. NB First Aid cannot be held responsible for information voluntarily disclosed by participants.
10. Certification
10.1. Certification is subject to full attendance and participation in all required elements of the course.
10.2. Certificates will be issued electronically unless otherwise stated.
10.3. NB First Aid reserves the right to withhold certification where course requirements are not met.
11. Course Content Disclaimer
11.1. Mental Health First Aid training provides guidance and awareness only and does not qualify participants to diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
11.2. Participants should always seek professional medical advice where appropriate.
11.3. NB First Aid accepts no liability for actions taken by participants following the course.
12. Accreditation and Licensing
12.1. Mental Health First Aid courses delivered by NB First Aid are licensed and regulated by SkillBase First Aid.
12.2. Certification is subject to meeting the requirements set by the awarding/licensing body.
12.3. NB First Aid must adhere to licensing standards which may require full attendance, camera use (online), and participation.
13. Liability
13.1. NB First Aid’s total liability is limited to the amount paid for the course.
13.2. NB First Aid shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
13.3. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14. Data Protection
14.1. NB First Aid will store and process personal data for the purpose of course administration and certification.
14.2. Personal data may be shared with the licensing or awarding organisation where required.
14.3. Personal data will not otherwise be shared with third parties unless required by law.
15. Intellectual Property
15.1. All course materials remain the intellectual property of NB First Aid and/or the licensing body.
15.2. Materials must not be copied, reproduced, photographed, recorded, or distributed without written permission.
16. Force Majeure
16.1. NB First Aid shall not be liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond reasonable control including but not limited to severe weather, illness, internet failure, venue closure, transport disruption, or government restrictions.
17. Complaints
17.1. Any complaints should be submitted in writing within 7 days of the course.
17.2. NB First Aid will aim to respond within 10 working days.
18. Governing Law
18.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
18.2. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
